Happy Easter!!!

No running today! Family time. On our way to visit aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents.
This past week, I have run more miles than I have since November! WOO HOO!
It feels good. Now, I am going to let my body recover.

Back to work tomorrow. I am excited to see the kids and hear their Spring Break stories. I know the rest of the school year is going to fly by.

Have a wonderful and joyous Easter day!

Another Blah Day!

I suppose I should be thankful that I have had the entire week off and we only have nine more weeks of school left. I was just hoping to get one day of really nice weather through the break. I am sitting here waiting for my friend to call so that it will make me go out and run. And yet, here I sit typing.
We spent a lazy day by the fire (I know! At the end of April!) not doing anything. It was nice to just sit, read, and watch a REALLY long game of softball on the computer. Oklahoma and Missouri. WOW! 11 innings! What a pitching duel.
Enough procrastination...I am going to run.

Jelly Bean Virtual Race

Man, I am not good at blogging. Life gets in the way.
I ran my first "race" today. It has been exactly four months since my surgery. This in itself amazes me. I am not a proponent of surgery....but this has been a life-saver for me. I am almost back to the speed I was before the surgery. Well, I guess a minute off each mile is pretty close. Considering that I was on my back for two full months, I will take anything close : )
This is my first real week back to training. I am being careful. Any twinge and I will stop and rest.
Now, if I can get the rest of the weight off. I'll be in good shape. (Bed rest is not good for a diet!)
