HELP!!!

I am having a DIFFICULT time uploading my Thanksgiving Unit to Google Docs! Every time I do it, it looks horrible. At least the images do. They are all "pixely". I don't understand.

Can anyone help me out?

I wanted to share my new Unit because I finally have 20 followers! WOW!!!

I have a really cute unit to share and the way that it is uploading makes it look horrible.

IPADS!!! Apps ideas?

We have two carts of class sets in our school. All the teachers are lucky enough to be able to sign them out! YIPPEEE! I get to use them on Monday. Halloween....can you believe it? No one else thought of it! Now that I am going to get them in my classroom, I was thinking about which apps I would use. HMMMM? There are so many.
We can only use free ones. I would like to set them up before we hand them out so that they don't have to wait for us to download the apps.
Any ideas?
Here's the little darlings the last time we used them.

Pumpkins...Pumpkins...and more SNOW!!!

We had such a great time working with the Pumpkin Observation Packets that Mrs. Bainbridge shared!
We checked to see if would sink or float.
We measured the height and circumference.
We counted the ribs.
We weighed it (in the nurses office :)
Then...we counted the seeds!
There was a lot of estimating in this activity!
I will post some pictures later in the day.

Head on over and grab this great booklet.

Race to the Top (Freebie)

I know a lot of you have a Race to the Top game for sight words. I wanted to jazz mine up a bit for the kids. I made them a little seasonal based on the weeks we have chosen for the words.

Before I implemented the Daily 5 this year, I had them work on these in a Center. You can have them do these individually or in groups. I thought I might even put the dice up on my Smart Board.

I will have them work on these during Work on Words in Daily 5. I am going to try this out for the first time this week. I will let you know how it goes.

Click below the picture for the download. Could you let me know if you download this and the pictures are still pixely? They sure don't look it when I make the document and then when I upload them to Google Docs, they look all grainy.

Enjoy!!!

Parent Teacher Conferences Post Post : )

So, we had our Parent/Teacher conferences today. I had six wonderful conferences. I would like to change a couple things on my conference form from talking to some parents. I want to add some goals from the parents and what I am going to do as a teacher. I would also like to add a place to put who was at the conference. I am sure I will think of some other things.

I will add these to my conference form and post it again this weekend.

On another note.....
I just don't have the time to do it tonight.
Soccer, Swim Meet, Field Hockey Practice, Concert....Oh MY!!!!
I am glad this week is finally over. I am looking forward to a semi-relaxing weekend.

Parent/Teacher Conference Form

I know everyone is close to Conference time.

What do you share with the family? Do you have the students come in? What are some catch phrases you use? How long do your conferences last?

Here is a form I use. I wish it had more room for notes about the student. But, this is what they want us to use. Parent/Teacher Conference Form.

Good luck with all your conferences. Maybe I will set up a linky party to share our successes.

Fall Words. I have. Who has? Freebie!

Freebie! Freebie! Freebie!
Here is my version of I have. Who has? FALL!
We made a poster of our "Fall is...." based on an idea by Linda Holliman. I love using this technique! It is explained at the end of the download. Fall Words. I have. Who has?

I am sitting here with my feet up. I fell last Friday. Maybe broken/maybe not....HMMMM! I have to wait until November 1st to get another x-ray. Oh well, at least I am getting some school work done.
I sure do miss running though. :(

Staff Development Day

We had a really great Staff Development Day yesterday. We were able to choose from several different tech. options.
Website Design, IPad, Google Docs., Google Calendar, Working in the Cloud, SmartBoard, and a couple more.
Our district has been pushing for us to use more technology and now has given us some time to learn more and work with it.
What do you do for your Staff Development Days?
