Five for Friday on a Saturday

Better late than never.

I am linking up again, a little late this time. I forgot yesterday was Friday. Oh Well.

ONE
I began Spring Break yesterday!!! Woo HOO!!!
We are staying home, but we are going to do some fun things together. :)

TWO
I had my formal observation yesterday. After a lot of hours and hard work, it is finally done. I think it went alright. My firsties had fun. :)

THREE
We have been playing with all the math games this week. The kiddos have so much fun!
I have some in my TpT store.
There is a sale going on this weekend. :)

FOUR
I attended a funeral this week. It was for my friend's grandmother. I have known her since I was very little. She was 92 and led a wonderful, faithful life. My friend's son (who is becoming a priest) officiated the service. This was so moving. Did I mention that he is 17? Amazing.

FIVE
I think I have found something amazing for my class. I have a few behavior issues in my classroom. One in particular does not have any boundaries at home. So, he has a really hard time in school. We have tried SOOOOO many things with him. I just started using Class Dojo.

Have you heard of this? It has been working all week. I can't believe it. It has so many features I haven't even tried yet. I am so excited about it. It really keeps these guys in check.
You should really check it out.

Well, another week has flown by.
I am excited to be home for Spring Break.
Have a wonderful Saturday!!!

Done, Done, and Done! and Sale, Sale, Sale!!!

Hello all!
I am done with my formal observation!!! Phew!!!
It took so long to prepare. UGH! It was scheduled for this past Wednesday, but then we had a snow day and it knocked it to Thursday. The day before Spring Break at 1:00! :)
You can snicker, it's ok. I'm over it now. :)

So, in honor of my observation being done, done, done, Easter this weekend, and that spring is finally starting to look like it may come soon...
I am having a sale in my store for the weekend.

I have updated my April Song. I love having these songs to sing during calendar time. It's my kiddos' favorite time of calendar.

Head on over to grab yours.
Click on the pictures to go to my TpT store.

This is my first day of spring break. We are not going anywhere. We have too much to do at home. I am going to make the most of it. We are going to do some family stuff. I am really looking forward to it.
Have a wonderful day!

Five for Friday

Here I am again.
Five for Friday with Kacey from Doodlebugs (first grade rocks).

ONE

I was out sick on Monday, we had a snow day on Tuesday, I worked Wednesday and Thursday, and we are going on a field trip today!!!

We're going to the Ho Tung Visualization Lab at Colgate University. They put on such a wonderful day for us. I am so excited!

TWO

We are gearing up for our formal observation next week.
I am trying something new this year. I went to a workshop on Project Based Learning. I fell in love with the concept and am implementing it into my classroom this year. I really think my firsties are going to get so much out of it. I am laying the groundwork right now and when we get back from Spring Break we are really going to get into it.
Due to the snow day this week, my observation is on the last day before our Spring Break!!! OH NO!!!

THREE

We have been working on TENS for the first part of our math unit.
I have a couple products I have put together to make it a little more fun for my firsties.

This little on is an adaptation from a game we play in Investigations.
It's just like "Go Fish" but you yell out "Rotten Eggs!"
My kiddos LOVE it. The "cards" are shaped like eggs!

I am still working on this one. It's another game adapted from Investigations.
You lay cards out and try to find as many ways to make 10 as possible.
I will try to finish this one up tonight. :)

FOUR

We are gearing up for the intense part of rehearsal for OLIVER. If you didn't read about it before, my daughter and I are in it together. We haven't had any rehearsals together yet, Saturday is the first! :)

FIVE

How many more teaching days until Spring Break....oh yeah FOUR!!!
 WOO HOO!!!
We are not doing anything very exciting, but I am excited none-the-less.
Who isn't???

Here's a photo of one of my son's flower bunches from the show last weekend. Our florist is a genius. Who would have thought of an artichoke heart being so pretty in flowers? And so different, because what boy REALLY wants flowers right?
I have been dreaming of flowers. We just have to get rid of this SNOW!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Snow Day!!!

Yesterday we had a snow day. Out of nowhere...well, of course my youngest was wearing her pjs inside out and all those other things. I was going to call in sick anyway, so I got a little freebie. Woohoo!!!
I finished typing up my pre-observation form for my observation next week. Now that we have had a snow day my observation is moved to the day before our spring break. BRILLIANT!!! I know my firsties are going to be little angels!! Oh MY! I am in trouble!

Well, anyway, I did get something accomplished. My super duper friend Barb,
over at Ruby Slippers Blog Designs

just made up these fabulous umbrellas
Seriously...they are $1.50 and sooooooo soooooo cute!

that I used to make up this Compound Word Concentration game.

Click on any of the pictures above to go to my TpT store and grab it.
Don't forget about my little sale going on.

Remember to email me with your TpT name and what you purchased so I can send you your little presents. :)

Have a wonderful day!!!

Monday, It's Math Time/ Special in my TpT Store

Well, here I am at home nursing a cold. I don't think I have sneezed this much in one day...since...ever!!!
I have at least two kiddos out with strep in my classroom. Uh Oh! Can we make it to spring break???

Well, since I was home, I thought I would complete some of my products I have been working on. The first one is a Tens, Go Fish game. We play this one with our Investigations math program. I love it!
I thought I would make it a little more fun for the kiddos and match it to the season.

Since Easter is coming up so quickly, I made some cards to go with Easter.

It is such a fun game. It gets my firsties to really know their facts to 10 which is so important. I have noticed the more they play, the faster they are with their addition facts. There are other games I have them play also. I will be adding them a little while later.

Right now I need to finish up my Pre-Observation form. My colleague and I worked on it for SIX hours!!! Now I just have to type it up. AND I have not even worked on my lesson plan. UGH!!

GOING ON RIGHT NOW...
In appreciation of all my bloggy friends out there...
Just send me an email with your TpT name, the item you purchased and your choice of Place Value Game and I will send you your little gifts.

Sunday Photo Freebies/ St. Patrick's Day

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!!
I have a "Kiss Me, I'm Irish!" Place Value Game.
For today only...head on over to pick it up for free.

I have found my new love for Fridays so now I have to switch my photos to Sunday. It doesn't flow like Friday Photo Freebies...I'll have to think of a better name.

Can you guess what my theme is today?
We talk about chickens a lot in my classroom. There are at least two students who have them.
I have been thinking about how to store all of these.
One idea I had was to print them out, glue them on cardstock and laminate them.
I could put them into categories and place one of those rings on them so the students could flip through.
Or I thought of putting them in an old recipe box.
Do you have any ideas?
Enjoy the photos.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Who doesn't love Willy Wonka??? Changing the Beginning and Endings of Words (S)

Hello all!
I LOVE Willy Wonka!!!
I wanted to include some of the whimsy from the characters into this fun activity.

We are working on changing the beginning and endings of words to make new words this week.
I made a little product to work on the S words.

You can use this in small groups, whole groups, or as a center activity.
I was hoping to post some photos of my students participating in the activity, but time got away from me.

I will be adding more activities with other beginning letters as we move along in our studies.

The Big East Tournament begins today!!!
Go 'CUSE!!!

Enjoy!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!
