Brain Breaks and GoNoodle Go Together Like Peanut Butter and Jelly

Who uses Brainbreaks or Energizers in their classroom? I can't imagine not having them in my first grade classroom.
My kiddos need them.

Sometimes I NEED them!

We use some activities from our Morning Meeting routine, but most of the time, we are using GoNoodle.

We also use it during inside recess. All of my firsties don't use it at this time, but it has been wonderful for those who have been using it.
We have monitors for our recess time. I have set up the SmartBoard so it is ready when they begin their indoor recess.

It gets them refocused and ready for our next task.

Morning Meeting Chants and Songs

I have been going through things in my classroom.
I still use charts so my firsties can physically work with it, but I also wanted them digitally for the SmartBoard.

We have Morning Meeting EVERY DAY. It doesn't matter if we have an assembly, delay, scheduled delay...whatever. We always have Morning Meeting. I honestly don't know how our day would go if we didn't have it. :)

Anyway, I have been putting our little chants and songs onto my computer. So, here are a few. Click on the picture to download them. They are all free. :)

Character Ed. Responsibility

We have a really great Character Education Program in our school.
In the past, the Character Education committee had done all the work for our assemblies and everything that goes with them.
This year, each grade level has to choose a trait and present at the opening and closing assemblies.
At first, our grade level was very nervous.
Then, of course, we started coming up with ideas and... that was that.

Our trait is Responsibility.

We will be showing an introduction video from The Magic School Bus series.

It's very cute and perfect for elementary school.
